Jiyuan Yang

Violin Instructor

Jiyuan Yang is an accomplished violinist and dedicated educator with a strong academic and performance background. He is currently completing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Kansas (expected 2025), where he has been an active performer and teacher. He holds a Master of Music degree from Temple University (2021) and a Bachelor of Music degree from Xinghai Conservatory of Music (2018).

 

Jiyuan brings a breadth of teaching experience, having led group violin classes at Foshan Nanhai International High School and taught orchestral repertoire at both Lawrence High School and Lawrence Free State High School.

 

His performance experience includes solo appearances such as a Jury Solo at Curtis Theatre in Los Angeles and multiple doctoral recitals at Swarthout Recital Hall in Kansas. He has performed with ensembles including the Topeka Symphony Orchestra, the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, and the KU Symphony Orchestra.

 

Jiyuan has also participated in masterclasses with distinguished artists and ensembles such as Stephanie Chase, Oleg Pokhanovski, and the Dover and Takacs Quartets, enriching his artistry and approach to teaching.
