What is ABRSM?
ABRSM exams (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) are internationally recognized music exams that assess a student’s progress in playing an instrument or singing. They cover performance, technical skills (like scales), sight-reading, and aural skills.

How SVCM helps?
For students who are interested in receiving a performance grade, in passing the ABRSM music theory exam Grade 5.
The reason is:
If you are taking a Performance Grade 6, 7 or 8 you must pass Grade 5 (or above) in the music theory exam before you book your exam at ABRSM.
This is to ensure you have the all-round musical knowledge and understanding needed to successfully interpret and perform music at the higher grades.

Why take them?
-
To track progress with clear goals and feedback
-
To earn certificates that are valued worldwide
-
To stay motivated and structured in their musical development
-
Higher levels (Grades 6–8) can even earn UCAS points in the UK for university applications
