Private Lesson Tuitions & Fees
One Time Trial Lesson
$45: 30 minute Trial Lesson (any age/experience level)
-
Trial lessons are available to first-time students or currently enrolled students trying a new instrument.
-
Students may take one trial lesson per teacher. You're welcome to trial with different teachers, but only one trial is allowed per individual instructor.
-
Scheduling a trial does not guarantee that the same day and time will be available for regular lessons afterward.
Before enrolling in Private Lessons for ongoing weekly lessons, we encourage students to start with a Trial Lesson. This one-time session gives children, teens, and adults the opportunity to meet the teacher, experience a full-length lesson, and get a feel for our teaching style and environment.
It’s an ideal way to make sure the student feels comfortable, engaged, and excited to learn—without the pressure of a long-term commitment. We understand how important the teacher-student connection is, especially when starting something new. The Trial Lesson offers a chance to find the right fit, so you can move forward with confidence.
Studio Policies
Private Lessons
Our teachers reserve dedicated time for each student, prepare intentionally for every lesson, and invest in the long-term progress of their students. To ensure consistent, high-quality instruction, we ask that the following studio policies be followed.
Monthly Tuition:
-
A $59 non-refundable registration fee is due at initial sign-up (and for returning students)
-
Returning students are students who are re-enrolling to SVCM. (Tuition is non-transferable).
-
-
First invoice will include registration fee, deposit equal to one (1) month of lessons, and first month lessons tuition (dependent on # of lessons).
-
Tuition is charged as a flat monthly fee, regardless of the number of lessons in a particular month. Some months will have four or five lessons; occasionally there may be three due to major holidays or SVCM closure dates (see our studio calendar)
-
Invoices are issued on the 15th of each month. Tuition for the following month's lessons is due by the 25th of the current month. ("Auto-pay" can be set up through invoice)
-
A $25 late fee will be charged for any payment received after the 1st of each month for non auto-pay members.
-
A $35 fee will be charged for returned checks (Any declined card transactions must be resolved by the next business day).
-
What your monthly tuition includes:
-
A regular, weekly lesson time with your assigned teacher (excluding holidays or closure dates).
-
Opportunities for our yearly recital performances/concerts and school events (based on first come first serve basis).
-
*Note: Books, educational materials, instrument rentals, and accessories are not included in tuition. Additional lessons for recitals or exam prep may be purchased separately.
-
Discontinuance/Student Withdrawal:
-
To withdraw, please submit the official withdrawal form (in person or via online form request).
-
To withdraw by the end of the month, the form must be submitted at least 10 days before the student's first lesson date of said month.
-
(i.e student would like to discontinue at the end of July, and the first lesson of July is on the 6th. Notice must be given by June 26th or earlier).
-
Otherwise, deposit will be applied to student's account to the following month as their final month.
-
-
Students remain registered and tuition will continue to be deducted until SVCM receives the completed Withdrawal Form.
-
Tuition is non-refundable for any remaining or unused lessons, including makeup lessons not completed before the final lesson date.
-
-
Discontinuance is not permitted during or immediately following a break.
-
You may withdraw your cancellation at any point before the effective date, though your original teacher or lesson time may no longer be available.
-
SVCM reserves the right to dismiss a student from lessons; in such cases, unused tuition will be refunded on a prorated basis.
Attendance & Missed Lessons:
-
Students are expected to arrive on time. Late arrivals are not guaranteed their full lesson time.
-
Frequent cancellations or no call/no shows per length of contract may result in teacher change or student dismissal.
-
Missed lessons do not qualify for tuition credit or refunds.
-
Make-up lesson credit will be granted for cancellations made with at least 24 hours' notice, via email.
-
Makeups must be scheduled within 2 weeks of lesson cancellation.
-
-
A maximum of 3 makeup lessons are permitted per calendar year (once a makeup lesson has been scheduled it cannot be rescheduled for any reason).
-
When an instructors schedule is full, make-up lessons with your regular instructor may not be available.
-
Any unused credits expire after discontinuance/withdrawal.
-
Teacher Cancellation:
-
In the case of instructor cancellation we will assign a qualified substitute or provide a makeup credit if yours is not available.
-
In case of long-term unavailability, we will offer a new instructor with a similar style or provide options to switch.
Holidays & Breaks:
-
SVCM is closed during major holidays and any additional holidays may be scheduled at management's discretion (please refer to website calendar for most accurate days of closure).
-
Any classes falling on holidays/SVCM closure dates will not be eligible for makeups.
-
Students are allowed maximum up-to two (2) months break per year (One month's tuition will be collected in advance to hold the lesson time during the break, this will be applied to their returning months lesson as credit).
-
Management must be notified at least 10 days before first date of break.
-
Students are permitted to purchase individual lessons based on SVCM's "per-lesson" pricing during break.
-

-
SVCM does not provide supervision for students before or after their scheduled lesson time.
